Edmonton Website Repair and Website Migration
- LDAP integration with Drupal
- Drupal Migration
- Troubleshooting Drupal 6.10, MySql 5.0.24 and PHP 5.2.13
- Test environment setup in order to test upgrading Drupal
Here are the instructions for creating a new blank site for testing purposes:
* create a new blank database using phpmyadmin - remember the name * in IIS create a new folder called drupal2 in the original drupal root directory - this way we should be able to access it at http://localhost:9000/drupal2....... * download drupal and un-zip into the drupal2 folder * go to drupal2/sites/default and copy "default.settings.php" and create a new file called "settings.php" from the copy. * open the "settings.php" file just created and edit the "$db_url =" line to reflect your new database. Database user name and password should be the same as before * go to drupal2/sites/all and create new folders called "modules" and "themes" * download the ldap module and unzip to the drupal2/sites/all/modules folder * use Internet Explorer to navigate to http://localhost:9000/drupal2/install.php and follow the instructions: o choose "install in English", then it should skip down to "configure site" (if all goes well), o fill in the required info... + site name should be something different/recognizable + create the admin user/password * it should automatically log you in as the admin user * go to Administer, Site Building, Modules, and enable the ldap authentication module, and save configuration at the bottom of the screen * check Administer, User Management, Permissions for any ldap module permissions * then input the required ldap settings (I believe it is under Site Configuration, ldap ??) and test...hopefully should authenticate * then logout, and try to login as a ldap user
